Notes on Factory Reconditioned vs Factory Blemished on Direct Tools Factory Outlet:Factory BlemishedMy factory blemished tools were just straight up new tools with full warranties. The "blemished" stuff is basically just overstock, but TTI can't sell Ryobi direct to consumer in the US because of their exclusive agreement with Home Depot. A contact at TTI and he told me that pretty much every product that is listed as blemished on the site is overstock. It's an accounting thing. Come in retail boxes with a sticker on the outside stating "blemished". Get the factory blemish as a first option. I can't tell what the supposed blemish is on any of them, and they come packaged just like they would from HD. Comes with a full 3 year warranty from Ryobi Factory ReconditionedThe refurbs can vary a little more and they are hot stamped. Refurbs also have a shorter warranty. Come with "RECON" slightly melted/stamped into the tool somewhere Come in plain brown boxes with manuals. The only blemish I saw was where they marked it as a refurb. Comes with a 1 year warranty through DTO I bought a reconditioned Ridgid circular saw for $50. Blemished price was about $90. HD price is $119. It has a few very light scratches on the shoe and RECON stamped into the plastic housing. If it weren't for the scratches and stamping, I'd swear it was brand new.
